Welcome to the HYPHOP Suffolk Success Coach Wiki

This wiki has been set up to help those working with young people on the ESF funded HYPHOP project stay in touch with the latest information on 14-19 reforms as well as with each other.  Information on the HYPHOP Project

Role of the Success Coaches in the Project:  Success Coaches are the key to this project in providing personal and ongoing support to young people for whom structured mainstream learning has not, until now, been an engaging process.  Strong positive and sustained personal support for these young people to celebrate success,  encourage their strengths and nuture aspirations, is at the heart of this project in getting these young people to develop a positive attitude to learning and an enduring aspiration for further progression.  Success coaches will also act as advocates on behalf of the client groups particular needs.

Clearly key workers already in place from existing projects and with particular client groups will provide assistance with project administration,  communication between partners, information exchange between programmes, co-ordination and sharing of data and resources between programmes and key transition points for learners with other agencies and ensure consistent processes for recording information related to individual programmes.  These  selected key workers will receive enhanced training for their own professional development  within their current role and to become Success Coaches.  There would also be an opportunity for appropriate staff from delivery partners such as youth workers and those in the voluntary sector to receive Success Coach training in order to up-skill this area of the workforce as per the new guidance outlined in the DCSF 14-19 Next Steps delivery.

Success Coaches will:

·         Undergo training above – this will include current Tutoring for  Transition training, 14-19 pathways training, awarding body training for delivery of modular/unit awards

·         Work with Project manager to ensure all activities meet the needs of their learners.

·         Work closely with their learners to provide them with the necessary support to enable them to participate on programme, attendance at college or training provider, attendance at interviews with employers etc.

·         Refer learners to appropriate agencies as and when necessary

·         Contribute to delivery of impartial IAG
